Example of this style

A bateau (also called a sabrina or a boatneck) neckline is characterized by the elegant (and often very slight) crescent slope beneath the neck and stretching across the chest area. The neckline is attached immediately on top of the shoulders by fabric, seams, or other fasteners.

Bateau necklines were made popular by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Audrey Hepburn. In fact, this neckline was nicknamed the "sabrina" neckline because of a famous bateau neckline dress that Audrey wore in the movie Sabrina.
