Wedding day letters

From AppleBride Community Encyclopedia

Traditionally, it is considered bad luck if the groom and the bride have any contact on their wedding day before the wedding ceremony. However, the bride and groom can receive letters that the other has written that morning. The groom will give the Maid of Honor (or a bridesmaid) the letter at the rehearsal dinner and the bride will give the Best Man (or a groomsman) her letter then as well. When read before the wedding, it is a very romantic reminder of the whole reason for the wedding- the love the couple shares.

In the wedding day letter, you may wish to recount happy times spent together. You may also want to include why you love your bride/groom and what about him/her makes you happy. The most important thing is that your words are genuine and come from your heart.

The letter may be handwritten or typed, though most couples prefer to hand write their letters. It can be on any type of paper- some couples may give cards, use special stationery, or use parchment. The sentiment within is much more important than the paper or ink with which it is printed.
